I like this handmade frame from Alain
Mikli so much that I bought two pair: one for every-day eyeglasses and the other for sunglasses. I bought the first pair for every-day use from my optician (at full price), and the frame was so beautiful and artistically inspired — there are many sets of the tan lines that carry over throughout the frame.
I purchased the second pair from Designer Optics. The second pair cost about 65% of what I paid to my optician for the first frame. DO’s frames are very nice, good quality materials and construction (and handmade like the first pair), but when I received them, I noticed in an instant that they were not nearly as beautiful as the first pair from my optician. Far fewer tan lines and practically no follow-through on the rest of the frame. This has led me to think that there may be different classes of quality, and could be priced accordingly. Note that I could be wrong about this.
Both frames are nice for different reasons, but the bulk of compliments I receive is for the first, higher-priced, more artistic frame. This tells me that people see the difference, too.
Of course, the frames are handmade in Italy, so no frame will look exactly alike.
I would give the frames from Designer Optics two stars, but the service was great, so an additional star.

1- Please fill out this form Return Authorization Form to get an RMA # you will receive a RMA # with instruction on how to return them within 48 to 72 Business hours from the time you submitted the form. Wait for our confirmation e-mail before shipping back the return
2- Send the product back to us following the instructions indicated in our e-mail and to the address we will provide you.
3- Make sure to confirm with us via e-mail the shipping date, the shipping service you used and the tracking number whenever you have
4- Include details of the return and how you would like for us to go about it (refund, store credit, exchange, etc). Designer Optics is not responsible for items damaged along the way.
Please allow us 3 to 5 business days from when items are received for us to process the refund. The amount to be refunded will not include shipping charges. if the order consists of 3 or more frames we will charge a 20% Restocking fee. otherwise only the shipping will be deducted.
