DESCRIPTION RATINGS & REVIEWS PRESCRIPTION GUIDE

The Maui Jim Baby Beach MJ245 Sunglasses deliver the timeless aviator style in a modified design crafted specifically for small to medium faces. Featuring a lightweight pure titanium frame with a sleek double bridge and adjustable silicone nose pads, these prescription-ready sunglasses offer exceptional comfort without the bulk of traditional aviators.

Every pair features Maui Jim's patented PolarizedPlus2® lens technology, which eliminates 99.9% of glare, blocks 100% of harmful UV rays, and enhances color perception for vivid, true-to-life vision. The shallow lens height prevents the frames from hitting high cheekbones while providing excellent coverage. Available in stunning colorways including Silver with Blue Hawaii mirror, Gold with HCL Bronze, and Rose Gold with Maui Sunrise lenses.

The corrosion-resistant titanium construction makes these sunglasses ideal for beach, water sports, and everyday wear. With their refined aviator silhouette and world-class optics, the Baby Beach sunglasses are a Maui Jim best-seller for those seeking premium eyewear that actually fits smaller facial features.

Not what was ordered

When I ordered the Maui Jim Baby Beach prescription sun glasses I called and had the tech walk me through the order process to ensure I was getting everything exactly right. I wanted the new lenses to match the original lenses exactly. Well lo and behold when the glasses arrived they were completely different (black lenses instead of the mirror blue). I called and was told to return them so they could be fixed. We are now on the second week waiting to hear from someone about the status of my glasses. I am extremely unhappy with the service I received and would recommend going to a brick and mortar store to get what you want.

Love my blue Hawaii Baby Beach aviators

I have had two pairs of the gold colored ones since 2012, and loved them. Both have been sent to Maui Jim to replace lenses once they started appearing dirty on the inside that I couldn't clean off. I decided to try the Blue Hawaii, and I love them. Mahalo!

Frequently Asked Questions

Are the Maui Jim Baby Beach MJ245 sunglasses prescription-ready?

Yes, the Baby Beach MJ245 is fully prescription-ready and can accommodate single vision, progressive, and bifocal prescriptions. The metal frame construction allows for easy lens customization by authorized optical labs. Contact our licensed opticians to add your prescription lenses with the same PolarizedPlus2® technology.

What size face do the Baby Beach sunglasses fit best?

The Baby Beach MJ245 is specifically designed for small to medium faces with a 56mm lens width, 18mm bridge, and 120mm temple length. The shallow lens height makes them ideal for people with high cheekbones or those who find traditional aviators too large. Many customers with petite facial features report this is one of the few aviator styles that fits them properly without looking oversized.

What is Maui Jim PolarizedPlus2® technology and how does it work?

PolarizedPlus2® is Maui Jim's patented lens technology that goes beyond standard polarization. It eliminates 99.9% of glare, blocks 100% of harmful UVA and UVB rays, and uses rare earth elements to enhance color perception—making reds, greens, and blues more vivid. The lenses also feature anti-reflective coating on the backside and water-repellent treatment for easy cleaning.

What lens color options are available for the Baby Beach MJ245?

The Baby Beach is available in multiple lens colors: Blue Hawaii (blue mirror for bright sunlight), Neutral Grey (true color perception in bright conditions), HCL Bronze (warm tint for everyday variable conditions), and Maui Sunrise (pink mirror for fast-action activities). All lenses feature the same PolarizedPlus2® technology with 100% UV protection.

What is the frame material and why is titanium used?

The Baby Beach features a pure titanium frame, which is exceptionally lightweight, highly durable, and corrosion-resistant—making it ideal for saltwater and humid environments. Titanium is stronger than aluminum or stainless steel while remaining flexible enough to withstand accidental drops or bending. The frame also includes adjustable silicone nose pads for a customized, non-slip fit.

Does Maui Jim offer a warranty on the Baby Beach sunglasses?

Yes, Maui Jim provides a 2-year warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship. The warranty includes free replacement nose pads and temple tips as long as parts are available. Maui Jim also offers competitive lens replacement services through their repair department if lenses become scratched or damaged beyond normal wear and tear.

Maui Jim Baby Beach vs. Mavericks vs. Cliff House: Finding Your Perfect Aviator Fit

Choosing between Maui Jim's aviator styles comes down to face size and coverage preference. The Baby Beach MJ245 stands out as the brand's best-selling modified aviator for small to medium faces, featuring shallower oval lenses that won't hit high cheekbones—a common complaint with traditional aviators.

If you have a medium to large face or want maximum coverage, the Maui Jim Mavericks MJ264 delivers the iconic teardrop aviator silhouette with larger lenses. The Mavericks offer a classic, universally flattering look but may overwhelm petite facial features. Customers who find the Baby Beach too small often step up to the Mavericks for that traditional aviator aesthetic.

The Maui Jim Cliff House MJ247 bridges the gap—slightly larger than the Baby Beach with a squared-off edge rather than an oval shape. It's the ideal middle ground for those who like the Baby Beach's refined proportions but want a bit more eye coverage and a more architectural, modern look.

Why choose the Baby Beach? If traditional aviators slide down your nose, hit your cheeks, or simply look too large on your face, the Baby Beach solves these fit issues while delivering the same world-class PolarizedPlus2® optics and lightweight titanium construction. It's the go-to choice for anyone who's struggled to find aviators that actually fit smaller features—without sacrificing style or performance.
