DESCRIPTION RATINGS & REVIEWS PRESCRIPTION GUIDE

The Nike ACE DRIVER E EV24009 sunglasses bring performance-driven design to the golf course and beyond. Built on an ultralight titanium frame in satin gunmetal, these men's sunglasses combine the durability you need for active wear with a weight so minimal you'll barely notice them during an 18-hole round.

Titanium Construction Built for Performance

Titanium isn't just lighter than standard metal frames—it's approximately 40% lighter while delivering exceptional strength and flexibility. The full-rim double bridge design adds structural reinforcement across the 56mm square lenses, ensuring the frame holds its shape through temperature changes, moisture, and the demands of outdoor activity. Titanium's natural corrosion resistance means these sunglasses won't degrade from sweat or humidity, and the hypoallergenic properties make them comfortable for all-day wear without irritation behind the ears or on the nose.

The double bridge isn't just a style choice—it's functional engineering. The top bar adds rigidity to the large lens area while maintaining a slim profile that fits comfortably under a golf cap. Nike designed the ACE DRIVER with a flat top bar specifically so the frame won't interfere with your hat brim, a detail golfers and outdoor athletes appreciate when the sun is high.

Course Tint Lenses & Full Coverage Fit

The Course Tint lenses are tuned for outdoor environments where reading contours matters. This brown-based tint blocks harsh sunlight while enhancing contrast and depth perception—helping you see the break in the green or track a ball against shifting backgrounds. The full-coverage fit defends against light leaks from the sides and top, reducing glare and eye strain during long sessions outdoors.

U-shaped rubber nose pads sit flush on your face for a secure, comfortable fit that won't slip when you look down to line up a putt. The patterned rubberized temple tips (in a complementary brown tone) enhance grip, so the sunglasses stay put through your swing or when you tuck them up as a headband between holes.

Designed for Golf, Built for Everywhere

While the ACE DRIVER E excels on the course, the clean square aviator shape and versatile satin gunmetal finish transition easily to casual wear—from the clubhouse to weekend drives. The frame measures 56-18-145mm (lens width, bridge, temple length), offering a medium-to-large fit that suits most face shapes. These sunglasses are also prescription-ready, so you can add your Rx lenses and maintain both performance and vision correction in one pair.

Good glasses. Light on accessories

The glasses themselves are very nice and work well on the course. It would have been nice if they provided a sack to slip the glasses into for more protection and a lens cloth to clean them. I can't believe those items cost much to include.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are the Nike ACE DRIVER E EV24009 sunglasses prescription-ready?

Yes, the Nike ACE DRIVER E EV24009 can accommodate prescription lenses. The full-rim titanium frame and 56mm lens width provide ample space for single-vision, progressive, or bifocal prescriptions. Many optical retailers offer prescription lens installation for this model, making it a versatile choice for those who need vision correction while playing golf or spending time outdoors.

What is Nike Course Tint and how does it help with golf?

Nike Course Tint is a specialized brown-based lens tint designed to block sunlight while highlighting forms and enhancing contours in outdoor settings. It improves contrast and depth perception, making it easier to read the greens and track the white ball against colorful backgrounds. The tint balances light transmission to reduce eye strain and fatigue during long rounds, performing well in both sunny and overcast conditions.

How much do the Nike ACE DRIVER E sunglasses weigh?

The Nike ACE DRIVER E EV24009 features an ultralight titanium construction that makes it significantly lighter than standard metal frames. Titanium frames are typically 40% lighter than conventional steel or metal alloy frames, reducing pressure on the nose and ears. This lightweight design allows for comfortable all-day wear during golf rounds or extended outdoor activities without the frame feeling heavy or causing discomfort.

Will these sunglasses fit under a golf cap or hat?

Yes, the Nike ACE DRIVER E is specifically designed with a flat top bar that fits comfortably under a cap without interference. The streamlined titanium temples are thin and straight (hat-compatible design) to reduce pressure on the sides of your head when wearing a hat. This thoughtful design feature makes them ideal for golfers and outdoor athletes who frequently wear headwear.

What is the difference between the ACE DRIVER E and other ACE DRIVER models?

The ACE DRIVER family includes several variants: the standard ACE DRIVER (EV24008), ACE DRIVER E (EV24009 with Course Tint), ACE DRIVER P (EV24010 with polarized lenses), and ACE DRIVER I models (more classic aviator styling). The 'E' designation indicates this model features the Course Tint lens optimized for golf, while the 'P' models offer polarized lenses for glare reduction. All share the ultralight titanium construction and performance-focused design.

Are titanium sunglasses more durable than plastic frames?

Yes, titanium frames offer superior durability compared to plastic. Titanium has the highest strength-to-density ratio of any metallic element—as strong as steel but only 45% of the weight. Titanium frames are corrosion-resistant, won't discolor from heat or moisture, and can withstand bends and daily wear better than most materials. They hold their shape over time, requiring fewer adjustments and offering long-term reliability for active use.

Nike ACE DRIVER E vs. Other ACE DRIVER Models

The Nike ACE DRIVER family offers several variations built on the same ultralight titanium platform, each optimized for different priorities. Understanding the differences helps you choose the right model for your needs.

ACE DRIVER E (EV24009) vs. Standard ACE DRIVER (EV24008)

Both models share identical titanium construction, double bridge design, and 56-18-145mm sizing. The key difference lies in the lens technology. The ACE DRIVER E features Course Tint lenses specifically engineered for golf—blocking sunlight while enhancing contrast and depth perception to help you read greens and track the ball. The standard ACE DRIVER (EV24008) offers grey and red mirror lens options that provide excellent sun protection but lack the golf-specific contrast enhancement. If you play golf regularly, the Course Tint justifies the minimal price difference. For general outdoor use, the standard model at $129.23 delivers the same frame quality with versatile neutral tints.

ACE DRIVER E vs. ACE DRIVER P (EV24010) – Course Tint or Polarized?

This comparison comes down to polarization versus sport-specific tint. The ACE DRIVER P (EV24010) at $141.54 features polarized lenses that eliminate glare from reflective surfaces like water, snow, and car hoods—making them exceptional for driving, fishing, and general outdoor activities. Polarized lenses reduce eye strain from harsh reflected light but can make it difficult to read digital screens and may not enhance the subtle contours of a golf green the way Course Tint does. The ACE DRIVER E prioritizes contrast and depth perception for golf without polarization, at a lower price point ($128.62). Choose the P model if glare reduction is your top priority; choose the E if you want lenses tuned specifically for the golf course.

ACE DRIVER E vs. ACE DRIVER I (EV24041) – Square or Aviator?

The ACE DRIVER I (EV24041) at $129.23 offers a more traditional aviator teardrop lens shape compared to the E model's modern square design. Both use lightweight titanium and fit comfortably under caps, but the styling differs significantly. The I model features silicone-wrapped temple tips with a debossed grip pattern and a streamlined, classic aviator aesthetic. The E model provides fuller coverage with its square lenses and double bridge, defending better against light leaks from the sides and top. If you prefer vintage aviator style, the I model delivers that look with the same performance materials. If you want maximum coverage and a contemporary square shape, the ACE DRIVER E is the better choice.

Our Recommendation: The Nike ACE DRIVER E EV24009 hits the sweet spot for golfers and outdoor enthusiasts who want specialized lens technology at a competitive price. The Course Tint lenses provide real performance benefits on the course, while the full-coverage square design and ultralight titanium construction make these sunglasses comfortable and functional for all-day wear. At $128.62, it's priced between the standard and polarized models, offering excellent value for golf-specific performance.
