Exactly what I wanted

I ordered a pair of sunglasses as a gift fory husband. He really wanted a specific frame and lens color( hard to find on other websites with his prescription!) I was concerned about entering in his prescription wrong, but was able to email a copy of the prescription for the technicians. The glasses turned out great! The prescription is accurate and looks good!

Perfect fit

I had a style similar to this one a few years ago. I've had several different style Oakley frames, but this one is my favorite. They were twice this price in store, so when I found this deal I had to order! Shipping time wasn't bad at all, and tracking info was always up to date. These are great frames- they fit well and they feel sturdy.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are the Oakley Split Time 4129 sunglasses prescription-ready?

Yes, the Oakley Split Time 4129 sunglasses are fully prescription-ready (Rx-compatible). The full rim metal frame construction allows your optician to fit prescription lenses while maintaining the integrity of Oakley's optical design. You can enjoy the same superior HDO clarity and UV protection with your custom prescription.

Are Oakley Split Time 4129 sunglasses prescription-ready?

Yes, the Oakley Split Time 4129 sunglasses are fully prescription-ready. These frames can accommodate single-vision, progressive, and polarized prescription lenses. The Three-Point Fit technology ensures lenses remain in precise optical alignment, making them an excellent choice for prescription eyewear. Many optical retailers offer prescription lens customization with Prizm technology options.

What is Oakley Prizm lens technology and which Split Time variants have it?

Oakley Prizm lens technology fine-tunes vision for specific environments by enhancing color, contrast, and detail. The Split Time 4129 offers multiple Prizm options including Prizm Sapphire Polarized, Prizm Rose Gold Polarized, Prizm Tungsten Polarized, Prizm Grey Gradient, Prizm Brown Gradient, Prizm Black, and Prizm Bronze variants—giving you optimized vision for everything from water sports to everyday driving.

What is Oakley Prizm lens technology and how does it work?

Oakley Prizm lens technology fine-tunes vision by filtering specific wavelengths of light to enhance color, contrast, and detail. Unlike traditional tinted lenses, Prizm lenses selectively boost certain colors while blocking others, resulting in sharper visual clarity and improved depth perception. This technology is particularly effective for outdoor activities and everyday wear, making details more vivid and reducing eye strain.

What face shapes work best with the Oakley Split Time pilot frame?

The Oakley Split Time's pilot (aviator) shape is specifically designed to flatter square and heart-shaped faces. The double bridge design and curved lens shape soften angular features, while the 58mm lens width provides balanced proportions. The feminine styling also works well for oval face shapes seeking a classic aviator look with modern refinement.

Will the Oakley Split Time fit comfortably under a hat?

Yes, the Split Time was specifically designed with hat compatibility in mind. The temples feature a slender profile that fits seamlessly under baseball caps, visors, and other headwear without causing pressure or discomfort. This makes them ideal for outdoor activities, sports, and everyday wear where you frequently wear hats.

Do Oakley Split Time sunglasses offer 100% UV protection?

Absolutely. All Oakley Split Time 4129 sunglasses feature Plutonite lens material that filters 100% of UVA, UVB, UVC, and harmful blue light up to 400nm. This comprehensive protection exceeds ANSI standards and shields your eyes from sun damage without relying on coatings that can wear off over time—the UV protection is built into the lens material itself.

What face shapes work best with the Split Time pilot lens shape?

The Oakley Split Time features a universally flattering pilot (aviator) lens shape that works well with most face shapes, particularly diamond, heart, oblong, oval, round, and square faces. The frame is designed for small to medium face sizes with a 58mm lens width and 13mm bridge. The curved frame front and tapered temples provide a comfortable, balanced fit.

What are the dimensions and fit of the Oakley Split Time 4129?

The Oakley Split Time 4129 features a 58mm lens width, 133mm temple length, and full rim metal construction with a double bridge design. The flex hinge system ensures a comfortable, adaptive fit that accommodates different head sizes while maintaining secure positioning during active wear. This medium-to-large fit is ideal for most adult women.

Do the Split Time sunglasses have UV protection?

Yes, all Oakley Split Time sunglasses feature Plutonite® lenses that provide 100% protection against UVA, UVB, UVC rays and harmful blue light up to 400nm. The lenses are designed and tested under extreme conditions to ensure uncompromising protection. High Definition Optics® (HDO) technology delivers superior optical clarity while maintaining complete UV protection.

What's the difference between polarized and non-polarized Split Time lenses?

Polarized Split Time variants (like Prizm Sapphire Polarized and Prizm Rose Gold Polarized) include a filter that blocks horizontal glare from reflective surfaces like water, snow, and pavement—ideal for driving, fishing, and snow sports. Non-polarized options like Prizm Grey Gradient and G40 Black Gradient offer excellent clarity and color enhancement without the polarization filter, which some prefer for activities requiring screen visibility or depth perception on varied terrain.

What are the Unobtainium nose pads and why do they matter?

Unobtainium is Oakley's proprietary material used for nose pads that increases grip as you perspire. This means the more you sweat during activities, the better the sunglasses stay in place. The no-slip, no-snag nose pads ensure a secure and comfortable fit during sports, workouts, or any active pursuits, preventing the frames from sliding down your nose.

Oakley Split Time 4129 vs. Similar Oakley Sunglasses

Choosing the perfect Oakley sunglasses means finding the right balance of style, performance, and fit. The Oakley Split Time 4129 stands out as a women-focused pilot frame with modern double bridge styling, but how does it compare to other popular Oakley metal frames?

Split Time 4129 vs. Oakley Feedback 4079

Both the Split Time and Feedback target women seeking aviator-style sunglasses with premium Oakley optics. The Feedback 4079 offers a classic single-bridge teardrop aviator that's instantly recognizable and universally flattering. However, the Split Time's double bridge design provides a more contemporary, architectural look that sets it apart from traditional aviators. The Split Time also features an integrated flex hinge system for enhanced comfort during extended wear. If you prefer timeless aviator styling, the Feedback delivers; if you want a modern twist on the pilot aesthetic with superior comfort features, the Split Time is your frame.

Split Time 4129 vs. Oakley Gauge 8 4124

The Oakley Gauge 8 4124 represents a departure from aviator styling, offering a bold square-to-rectangular shape with minimalist metal construction. While both frames feature premium stainless steel and Prizm lens options, the Gauge 8 skews more unisex and contemporary, whereas the Split Time embraces feminine pilot elegance. The Gauge 8 starts at a higher price point ($155) and suits those seeking modern, architectural eyewear. Choose the Split Time if you want a shape that flatters more face types (especially square and heart-shaped faces) and prefer the accessible luxury of the pilot silhouette.

Split Time 4129 vs. Oakley Holbrook Metal 4123

The Holbrook Metal 4123 brings Oakley's iconic lifestyle frame into the metal category, offering retro-square styling with a vintage-inspired edge. At $180-$297, it's positioned as a premium option with broader unisex appeal. The Holbrook Metal's square shape works beautifully for round and oval faces but can emphasize angularity on square face shapes—exactly where the Split Time's pilot curves excel. The Split Time also offers a more feminine aesthetic and lighter feel, making it ideal for all-day comfort. If you're drawn to vintage-inspired, statement-making frames, consider the Holbrook Metal; if you want refined, flattering pilot styling with athletic performance, the Split Time delivers exceptional value.

Why Choose the Oakley Split Time 4129?

The Split Time 4129 hits the sweet spot for women seeking prescription-ready pilot sunglasses with cutting-edge lens technology. Its double bridge design offers contemporary style, the flex hinge system ensures comfort, and 14 colorway options (including multiple Prizm variants) let you customize for your specific activities. Starting at $134.92, it's competitively priced while delivering the same Plutonite UV protection and HDO clarity that define Oakley's performance heritage. Whether you're an athlete, outdoor enthusiast, or style-conscious professional, the Split Time adapts to your lifestyle with grace and precision.
