DESCRIPTION RATINGS & REVIEWS PRESCRIPTION GUIDE

The Ray-Ban RB4407 sunglasses bring a fresh take on square frames with their distinctive tri-layer acetate construction. These unisex sunglasses feature a bold, geometric silhouette defined by a keyhole bridge and ultra-wide temples that make a confident statement without overwhelming your face.

Tri-Layer Design That Stands Out

What sets the RB4407 apart is its injected tri-layer frame construction. The layering technique allows internal tones to show through with a translucent quality, creating subtle contrasts that shift as light hits the frame. You'll find this in the tortoise-on-brown and black-on-transparent combinations, plus earthy transparent tones that give depth you won't see in standard single-layer acetate frames. The metal front rivets add a touch of hardware detail that's pure Ray-Ban.

The square shape works well for round and oval faces, offering structure and balance. At 57mm lens width, 19mm bridge, and 145mm temples, the RB4407 is sized as a wide fit—ideal if you have a larger face or a high nose bridge. The keyhole bridge sits comfortably and adds a vintage-inspired touch that softens the overall look.

Prescription-Ready & UV Protection

These frames are prescription-ready, so you can add your Rx lenses for clear vision without sacrificing style. All RB4407 sunglasses include 100% UV protection to shield your eyes from harmful rays, whether you're driving, at the beach, or just running errands. Polarized lens options are available in select colorways for enhanced glare reduction.

The RB4407 comes with Ray-Ban's signature case and cleaning cloth. It's a modern square frame with enough personality to feel current but enough restraint to wear every day.

Longer wait but best price

Ordered my glasses at 40% off compared to the store prices, had to wait a week before it got shipped, but eventually received my new glasses. Totally recommend.

Great glasses, poor communication

Love the glasses. However, it took about 3 wks to get them after ordering. It took me calling them to find out they went to an outside source to obtain them and that there would be a 2 wk delay to receive them. If I hadn’t called I would have thought the shipment was lost.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are Ray-Ban 4407 sunglasses prescription-ready?

Yes, the Ray-Ban RB4407 sunglasses are fully prescription-ready. You can have custom prescription lenses installed by an optical lab or order them with Rx lenses directly. The square shape and 57mm lens width provide ample space for most prescription ranges, including single vision and progressive lenses.

What size are Ray-Ban RB4407 sunglasses?

The Ray-Ban RB4407 measures 57mm lens width, 19mm bridge width, and 145mm temple length (57-19-145). This is considered a wide fit, making them ideal for larger faces or those who prefer generous coverage. The high bridge fit works well for people with higher nose bridges and lower cheekbones.

What is the tri-layer construction on the RB4407?

The RB4407 features Ray-Ban's tri-layer injected acetate construction, where multiple layers of material are fused together during manufacturing. This technique creates a translucent quality that allows internal color tones to show through, producing subtle contrasts and depth that single-layer frames can't achieve. It's the same construction used across Ray-Ban's tri-layer family of styles.

Do Ray-Ban 4407 sunglasses have UV protection?

Yes, all Ray-Ban RB4407 sunglasses include 100% UV protection as standard. The lenses are coated to block harmful UVA and UVB rays, protecting your eyes during outdoor activities. Polarized lens options are also available in select color combinations for additional glare reduction in bright conditions.

What face shapes work best with the Ray-Ban 4407?

The Ray-Ban RB4407's square shape works best for round and oval face shapes, as the angular lines add structure and definition. The wide fit and generous lens coverage also suit larger faces well. The keyhole bridge and ultra-wide temples provide a balanced look that flatters most face types, though those with very small or narrow faces may find the 57mm lens width too large.

Are Ray-Ban RB4407 sunglasses unisex?

Yes, the Ray-Ban RB4407 is designed as a unisex style suitable for both men and women. The square geometric shape, wide temples, and neutral color options make these sunglasses versatile across genders. The 57mm lens width provides a bold look that works for anyone seeking a modern, statement-making frame.

Ray-Ban RB4407 vs New Wayfarer vs Justin: Which Square Frame Is Right for You?

If you're drawn to Ray-Ban's square acetate frames, you're likely weighing the RB4407 against two other popular models: the New Wayfarer RB2132 and the Justin RB4165. All three offer prescription-ready square frames with full UV protection, but each brings a different design philosophy and fit.

Design & Construction

The RB4407 stands out with its tri-layer injected acetate construction. This technique layers multiple tones of material to create a translucent effect with subtle internal contrasts—something you won't find in the New Wayfarer's lightweight nylon or the Justin's standard acetate. The RB4407 also features a distinctive keyhole bridge and ultra-wide temples that give it a more architectural, geometric look. If you want a frame that feels modern and catches the light in interesting ways, the RB4407 delivers.

The New Wayfarer, by contrast, is the streamlined classic. It's lighter (thanks to nylon construction), has a shallower lens height, and comes in three sizes (52mm, 55mm, 58mm) for better fit flexibility. The Justin splits the difference with a softer, more rounded square shape and optional rubber finishes for a matte, contemporary vibe.

Fit & Coverage

The RB4407 is a wide fit at 57mm with a high bridge, making it ideal for larger faces or anyone who wants generous coverage. The ultra-wide temples add to that bold, statement-making presence. The New Wayfarer offers more size options, so if you have a smaller face, the 52mm or 55mm might be a better match. The Justin also runs wide but with narrower temples, so it feels less chunky on the face.

Price & Value

The Justin starts at $98, the New Wayfarer at $117.56, and the RB4407 at $130.88. You're paying a bit more for the RB4407's tri-layer construction and unique design details, but it's still competitively priced within Ray-Ban's acetate lineup.

Which Should You Choose?

Choose the RB4407 if you want a modern, distinctive square frame with tri-layer depth, a keyhole bridge, and bold coverage. It's the most architectural of the three and makes a confident style statement. Choose the New Wayfarer if you prefer a lighter, more classic look with multiple size options and a proven iconic design. Choose the Justin if you want a softer square shape with a contemporary matte finish at the lowest price point.
