DESCRIPTION RATINGS & REVIEWS PRESCRIPTION GUIDE

The Ray-Ban RX5268 prescription eyeglasses deliver classic rectangular styling in a full-rim acetate frame that works for just about anyone. Available in multiple lens widths (48mm, 50mm, 52mm, and 55mm) and a range of colors—from matte black and tortoise to eye-catching two-tone combinations like black-on-blue—these frames adapt to round, oval, and heart-shaped faces with equal ease.

Built for Daily Wear

The RX5268 features spring hinges that flex outward to reduce pressure behind the ears, a practical detail that makes all-day wear more comfortable. The acetate construction is lightweight yet durable, resisting everyday wear better than cheaper plastics while holding its color and finish over time. Ray-Ban's signature logo sits on each temple, and the thick rims give the frame a confident, modern look that translates well from the office to the coffee shop.

Prescription-Ready and Versatile

These frames accept single-vision, progressive, and bifocal prescription lenses, making them a solid choice whether you need distance correction, reading help, or both. The full-rim design provides excellent lens support and works with a wide range of prescriptions. The 17mm or 18mm bridge (depending on size) and adjustable fit mean most wearers can dial in a secure, comfortable position without constant readjustment.

If you're after a dependable pair of Ray-Ban eyeglasses that won't go out of style next season, the RX5268 is a straightforward pick. It's not trying to reinvent anything—just clean lines, quality materials, and the kind of fit that doesn't call attention to itself.

Unhappy

The glasses were late and employee was rude when I called for info. The glasses are making a creaking noise, supposed to be designer Ray Ban but clearly a low level product and low level company. Would not recommend.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are Ray-Ban 5268 eyeglasses suitable for prescription lenses?

Yes, the Ray-Ban RX5268 frames are fully prescription-ready and compatible with single-vision, progressive, and bifocal lenses. The full-rim acetate construction provides excellent lens support for a wide range of prescriptions. You can also add blue-light filtering or anti-reflective coatings to customize your lenses for screen use or nighttime driving.

What face shapes work best with the Ray-Ban 5268?

The RX5268's rectangular shape flatters round, oval, and heart-shaped faces by adding structure and balance. The clean angles help define softer facial features, while the multiple size options (48mm to 55mm lens width) ensure a proportional fit. If you have a square face, you may prefer rounder frames to soften your jawline.

Do Ray-Ban 5268 frames have spring hinges?

Yes, the Ray-Ban RX5268 features flex spring hinges that allow the temples to bend outward slightly, reducing pressure on your ears and providing a more forgiving fit. This design improves all-day comfort and helps the frames accommodate different head widths without feeling too tight or loose.

How do I care for Ray-Ban acetate eyeglasses?

Clean your Ray-Ban acetate frames with lukewarm water and a drop of mild, lotion-free dish soap, then dry with a soft microfiber cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals, hot water, or abrasive materials that can damage the finish. Store your glasses in a protective case when not in use to prevent scratches and maintain the frame's shape over time.

What sizes are available for the Ray-Ban 5268?

The Ray-Ban RX5268 is available in four lens widths: 48mm, 50mm, 52mm, and 55mm, with bridge widths of 17mm or 18mm and temple lengths of 135mm, 140mm, or 145mm depending on the size. This range covers small to large faces. To find your best fit, measure your current glasses or check the three-number size code printed on the inside of the temple.

How does the Ray-Ban 5268 compare to the 5228?

The Ray-Ban RX5268 has thicker, bolder rims compared to the slimmer RX5228, which is Ray-Ban's more refined take on the rectangular Wayfarer-inspired shape. The 5268 makes a stronger visual statement and suits those who prefer a more substantial frame, while the 5228 offers a lighter, more understated look. Both feature acetate construction and spring hinges, but the 5268 is generally more affordable.

Ray-Ban 5268 vs. 5228 vs. Clubmaster 5154: Which Frame Is Right for You?

If you're deciding between Ray-Ban prescription eyeglasses, the RX5268, RX5228, and Clubmaster RX5154 represent three distinct approaches to everyday optical style.

Ray-Ban 5268: Bold and Affordable

The RX5268 is Ray-Ban's value play in full-rim rectangular acetate frames. Its thicker rims create a confident, modern look that stands out without being trendy. Spring hinges and multiple size options (48mm to 55mm) make it adaptable to most face shapes, and the price ($93.56–$176) is hard to beat for authentic Ray-Ban quality. If you want a straightforward, durable frame that won't break the bank, the 5268 delivers.

Ray-Ban 5228: Refined and Heritage-Inspired

The RX5228 is the more sophisticated choice—slimmer rims, sleeker arms, and a design that nods to the iconic Wayfarer shape from the 1950s. It's lighter on the face and more understated, making it ideal for professional settings or anyone who prefers a refined aesthetic. You'll pay a bit more ($110.56–$222), but you're getting Ray-Ban's heritage design language in optical form.

Ray-Ban Clubmaster 5154: Iconic Browline Style

The Clubmaster RX5154 is a completely different animal—a browline frame that combines acetate upper rims with a metal lower frame. It's Ray-Ban's most recognizable optical style after the Wayfarer, with retro appeal and instant brand recognition. The Clubmaster works beautifully in both casual and business-casual environments, but it's a bolder statement than either the 5268 or 5228. At $132.30–$280, it's the priciest option here, and the browline look isn't for everyone.

Our Take

Choose the RX5268 if you want the best value, a bold rectangular look, and don't need the heritage cachet. Go with the RX5228 if you prefer a slimmer, more refined frame and appreciate the Wayfarer lineage. Pick the Clubmaster RX5154 if you're drawn to the iconic browline design and want a frame with serious retro credentials. All three are prescription-ready, well-built, and backed by Ray-Ban's reputation—you really can't go wrong.
