DESCRIPTION RATINGS & REVIEWS PRESCRIPTION GUIDE

The Lacoste L3649 Eyeglasses bring the brand's signature sporty style to kids' prescription eyewear. These full-rim rectangular frames are made from bio-injected acetate, a lightweight and hypoallergenic material that stands up to the demands of active children while remaining comfortable for all-day wear.

What sets these frames apart is the distinctive Lacoste branding. The first variant features a bold matte black front with a striking turquoise temple accent bearing the Lacoste name, while the second showcases a soft matte finish with a cream-colored temple detail. Both designs display the brand's iconic crocodile logo, making these frames instantly recognizable. The rectangular shape offers generous lens coverage and suits a variety of face shapes, making them a versatile choice for kids and teens ages 10-13.

Acetate construction means these frames are both durable and flexible, resisting temperature changes and everyday impacts better than metal alternatives. The material is naturally hypoallergenic, so it won't irritate sensitive skin. The full-rim design provides excellent lens security and durability, while the 135mm temples and 15mm bridge ensure a stable, comfortable fit. Available in two eye sizes (50mm and 52mm), the L3649 accommodates growing faces.

These frames are fully prescription-ready and compatible with single vision, bifocal, and progressive lenses. Manufactured by Marchon for Lacoste, they meet the quality standards you'd expect from a heritage sports brand. The L3649 offers kids a chance to wear a recognizable designer name without sacrificing the durability and comfort they need for school, sports, and everyday activities.

Great glasses for the cost!

We purchased a pair of Lacoste glasses and they are genuine and a very high quality. The shipping time did take slightly longer than anticipated and it originally made me feel frustrated, but I was pleasantly surprised how quickly they came after I originally was frustrated! The glasses are very high quality and were half the price of the glasses at the eye doctor!

Frequently Asked Questions

Are the Lacoste L3649 eyeglasses suitable for kids with active lifestyles?

Yes, the L3649 frames are made from bio-injected acetate, which is lightweight, flexible, and impact-resistant. This material is specifically recommended for children's eyewear because it can withstand everyday wear and active play better than metal frames or rimless designs. The full-rim construction also provides excellent lens security.

What size should I choose for my child?

The L3649 is available in two eye sizes: 50mm and 52mm, both with a 15mm bridge and 135mm temples. The 50mm size typically fits kids ages 8-11, while the 52mm works well for older children and teens ages 10-13. Measure your child's current frames or consult the size guide to ensure the best fit.

Can I add prescription lenses to these frames?

Absolutely. The Lacoste L3649 frames are fully prescription-ready and compatible with single vision, bifocal, and progressive lenses. The rectangular shape and full-rim design provide ample space for most prescriptions. For kids, polycarbonate lenses are recommended as they're impact-resistant, 30% thinner than plastic, and include built-in UV protection.

Are these frames hypoallergenic?

Yes, the L3649 frames are made from acetate, which is naturally hypoallergenic and safe for children with sensitive skin. Acetate frames don't require separate nose pads, which eliminates potential pressure points and reduces the risk of irritation or discomfort during extended wear.

Who manufactures Lacoste eyeglasses?

Lacoste eyeglasses are manufactured by Marchon, a well-known eyewear partner recognized for quality craftsmanship and consistency in production. This ensures that every pair meets strict quality standards and includes authentic Lacoste branding, including the iconic crocodile logo.

What makes acetate a good material for kids' glasses?

Acetate is lightweight, durable, and flexible, making it ideal for children's eyewear. It resists temperature changes and is less likely to break than other materials. Acetate is also hypoallergenic and comfortable for all-day wear, and because it doesn't require separate nose pads, there are fewer parts that can break or cause discomfort.

Lacoste L3649 vs. Similar Kids' Frames

If you're shopping for Lacoste kids' eyeglasses, you'll find several models in the L36XX and L38XXB series that share similar construction, sizing, and price points. Here's how the L3649 compares to other popular options in our collection.

L3649 vs. L3647

Both the Lacoste L3647 and L3649 are built from bio-injected acetate and priced identically ($55-$66.46). The key difference lies in the frame shape and temple styling. The L3649 features a more rectangular silhouette with bold temple accents—like the turquoise stripe on the matte black variant—while the L3647 may offer a slightly different shape profile. Both are excellent choices for active kids who need durable, prescription-ready frames with the iconic Lacoste crocodile logo.

L3649 vs. L3803B

The Lacoste L3803B shares the same price range and acetate construction as the L3649. Both feature full-rim rectangular designs with non-slip temples and the signature crocodile branding. The L3803B may offer different color options and subtle variations in temple design, but the core benefits—lightweight comfort, hypoallergenic material, and durability—remain consistent. Choose based on which color options and temple styling your child prefers.

L3649 vs. L3804B

The Lacoste L3804B is priced slightly higher ($62.77-$66.46) but delivers the same premium acetate construction and rectangular shape. Like the L3649, it's designed for kids and teens who need prescription eyewear that can keep up with school, sports, and daily activities. The L3804B may feature a different color palette and temple detailing, so compare the available options to see which design resonates with your child.

Why Choose the L3649?

The Lacoste L3649 stands out for its bold temple accents and distinctive color combinations, particularly the matte black with turquoise stripe and the soft matte finish with cream detailing. If your child wants a frame that makes a statement while still being durable and comfortable, the L3649 is an excellent choice. All of these Lacoste kids' frames are prescription-ready, hypoallergenic, and backed by Marchon's quality manufacturing standards.
