Easyclip EC411 vs EC408: Full-Rim or Semi-Rimless?
The most common comparison customers make is between the EC411 and the EC408—both rectangular metal frames with Aspex's magnetic clip-on system, but with different rim styles.
The EC411 features a full-rim design that encircles the entire lens, providing maximum structural support and a more traditional eyeglass appearance. This makes it better suited for higher prescriptions and progressive lenses, and the full rim offers more lens security. The 55mm lens width provides generous coverage.
The EC408 uses a semi-rimless (half-rim) construction where the bottom of the lens is exposed, creating a lighter, less obtrusive look. It measures 53-18-140mm—slightly smaller than the EC411—and works well for narrower faces. The semi-rimless design shows more of your face and feels lighter on the nose, but it's less ideal for very strong prescriptions or thick lenses.
Both frames use the same patented magnetic clip-on technology with high-powered magnets and include polarized sunglass clips. Both are prescription-ready and priced identically in our store.
Choose the EC411 if: You prefer a traditional full-rim look, need support for higher prescriptions or progressives, or want maximum lens coverage and security.
Choose the EC408 if: You want a lighter, more minimalist appearance, have a narrower face, or prefer frames that show more of your features.
Other Easyclip Alternatives
The EC459 and EC469 offer additional full-rim rectangular options at the same price point. All three use identical magnetic technology, so your choice comes down to frame proportions and which rectangular shape best complements your face. We recommend trying the measurements against your current frames—the EC411's 55-16-140mm sizing is medium-large and suits most adult men.
