DESCRIPTION RATINGS & REVIEWS PRESCRIPTION GUIDE

The Tom Ford 5574B Blue Light Blocking Eyeglasses pair Italian luxury with practical screen protection for women who spend hours in front of digital devices. This square metal frame features a distinctive enamel front paired with shiny rose gold or black metal temples, creating a sophisticated look that transitions from office to evening without missing a beat.

Blue Light Filtering for Digital Comfort

Built-in blue light filtering lenses reduce exposure to high-energy visible light (400-455nm wavelengths) emitted by computers, phones, and tablets. While the science on blue light glasses continues to evolve, many users report reduced glare and less eye fatigue during extended screen sessions. The lenses are prescription-ready, so you can add your Rx and combine vision correction with blue light protection in a single pair.

The filtering technology is integrated during manufacturing—either as a specialized coating or within the lens material itself—and works alongside anti-reflective treatments to minimize distracting reflections while managing specific light wavelengths.

Premium Metal Construction & Fit

The 5574B's metal frame (55mm lens width, 16mm bridge, 140mm temples) offers a medium-to-large fit. The enamel front adds visual interest and durability, while the slim metal temples keep the overall weight down. Reviewers note the frame "sits well on the bridge of the nose and isn't tiresome on the ears," even after a full workday.

Available in three color combinations—black enamel with rose gold, ivory enamel with black metal, and red enamel with rose gold—each featuring Tom Ford's signature "T" logo at the temples. Like all Tom Ford optical frames, the 5574B is handmade in Italy with attention to detail and quality materials.

Who It's For

This frame suits women looking for designer eyewear that addresses modern screen habits without sacrificing style. The square shape complements oval, round, and heart-shaped faces by adding structure, while the metal construction appeals to those who prefer a lighter, more refined aesthetic than acetate frames. If you're a professional who values both form and function—and wants eyewear that looks intentional, not clinical—the 5574B delivers.

Fantastic

I absolutely love my new glasses. It’s taking a bit to adjust to my new size and weight compared to my old frames, but these are not heavy at all. They sit well on the bridge of the nose and aren’t tiresome on the ears. The blue light block is great for sitting at my computer and phone. Well worth the price and upgrade of an anti glare and blue block lens.

terrific purchase

I was able to find my Tom Ford frames for more than $100.00 off on this site. I would not have purchased though unless I could have purchased a warranty. Even with the warranty I saved! Thank you!!!

Great Purchase

I was happy to see these frames on DesignerOptics at a substantial savings from my regular frame store associated with my excellent Optometrist. I would not have purchased though without the opportunity to purchase the two year warranty as my original frames broke. Even with the extended warranty, I saved money!

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I add prescription lenses to the Tom Ford 5574B?

Yes, the Tom Ford 5574B is fully prescription-ready. The frame accepts single vision, progressive, bifocal, and reading lenses. The blue light filtering technology is already built into the lenses, and you can add your prescription on top of that protection. The 55mm lens width and full-rim metal construction accommodate most prescription strengths.

How does blue light filtering work in these glasses?

The Tom Ford 5574B lenses filter blue-violet light wavelengths (typically 400-455nm) emitted by digital screens and LED lighting. The filtering is integrated during lens manufacturing, either as a specialized coating or within the lens material itself. This technology reduces exposure to high-energy visible light while preserving overall color accuracy and visual clarity.

What is the frame size and who does it fit best?

The 5574B measures 55mm (lens width) × 16mm (bridge) × 140mm (temples), making it a medium-to-large fit. The square metal frame shape works well for oval, round, and heart-shaped faces by adding structure and definition. Customers report the frame sits comfortably on the nose bridge and doesn't feel heavy on the ears, even during extended wear.

Are Tom Ford eyeglasses authentic and where are they made?

Authentic Tom Ford eyeglasses, including the 5574B, are handmade in Italy by Marcolin, the licensed manufacturer for Tom Ford Eyewear. Each frame features the signature "T" logo on the temples, comes with original Tom Ford packaging, case, and cleaning cloth, and includes a certificate of authenticity. Designer Optics is an authorized retailer carrying 100% authentic Tom Ford products.

What's the difference between the 5574B and other Tom Ford blue light models?

The 5574B features a metal frame with enamel detailing, distinguishing it from acetate models like the 5537B. While both offer the same blue light filtering technology and Italian craftsmanship, the 5574B's metal construction provides a lighter feel and more refined aesthetic. The 5574B is priced at $293.54 compared to the 5537B's $141.67-$232.62 range, reflecting the premium metal and enamel materials.

Do blue light glasses really reduce eye strain?

Blue light glasses filter specific wavelengths (400-455nm) that may contribute to visual discomfort. Many users report reduced glare and less eye fatigue when using screens, though scientific evidence remains mixed. Eye strain is primarily caused by reduced blinking and focusing fatigue, so the "20-20-20 rule" (every 20 minutes, look 20 feet away for 20 seconds) remains important. Blue light filtering may be most beneficial for regulating sleep cycles when used in the evening.

Tom Ford 5574B vs 5537B: Metal or Acetate?

If you're choosing between Tom Ford blue light eyeglasses, the 5574B and 5537B represent two distinct approaches to the same problem: protecting your eyes during screen time while looking polished.

The 5574B takes a refined route with its metal frame and enamel front. At $293.54, you're paying for lighter weight, a more sophisticated aesthetic, and unique color combinations (black enamel/rose gold, ivory/black metal, red enamel/rose gold). The 55mm lens width suits medium-to-large faces, and the metal construction feels less noticeable during all-day wear. Customers describe it as comfortable on the nose bridge and ears, even after hours at the computer.

The 5537B offers the same Italian craftsmanship and blue light filtering technology in an acetate frame starting at $141.67—a significant savings. The acetate construction allows for bolder colors (Dark Havana, Shiny Pink, Shiny Light Brown, Shiny Black) and a more substantial presence on your face. The 52mm lens width fits petite to medium faces better than the 5574B. However, acetate is heavier than metal, and some users note the larger square shape can feel oversized.

Our take: Choose the 5574B if you prioritize lightweight comfort, a refined metal aesthetic, and plan to wear them all day in professional settings. The enamel detailing and rose gold accents add visual interest without being loud. Choose the 5537B if you want to save $100+ and prefer the bold, substantial look of acetate frames—or if you need the smaller 52mm fit. Both deliver authentic Tom Ford quality and effective blue light protection; the decision comes down to material preference and budget.

Tom Ford 5574B vs 5542B: Comparing Metal Options

Both the 5574B ($293.54) and 5542B ($245.08) are metal-frame blue light eyeglasses from Tom Ford, but the 5574B's enamel front and distinctive color combinations set it apart. If you're drawn to metal frames but want something more visually interesting than standard metal construction, the 5574B's enamel detailing justifies the $48 premium. The 5542B is a solid choice if you prefer a more understated metal frame at a lower price point.
