DESCRIPTION RATINGS & REVIEWS PRESCRIPTION GUIDE

The Flexon 610 Eyeglasses deliver the practical benefits of memory metal technology in a clean, rectangular frame that works for everyday wear. Built with Flexon's titanium-based alloy, these frames flex under stress and return to their original shape - a real advantage if you're prone to sitting on your glasses or tossing them in a bag.

Memory Metal That Actually Works

Flexon pioneered memory metal eyewear in 1988 using a titanium-nickel alloy called NiTiNOL. The 610 incorporates this material in the temples and bridge, making the frame significantly more resilient than standard metal frames. Titanium construction means these frames weigh about 40% less than comparable stainless steel options, which translates to less pressure on your nose bridge during all-day wear. The material is also naturally corrosion-resistant and hypoallergenic - no green discoloration or skin irritation over time.

The full-rim rectangular design offers good lens protection and works well for moderate to higher prescriptions. Adjustable silicone nose pads let you dial in the fit to match your nose bridge, preventing the constant slipping that's common with one-size-fits-all frames. Available in three sizes (51mm, 53mm, and 55mm lens width) and four neutral finishes: Steel, Gunmetal, Coffee, and Light Bronze.

Who It's For

The rectangular shape adds definition to round or oval faces by providing angular contrast to softer features. The 610 is a solid choice if you need prescription-ready frames that can handle daily wear without constant adjustments. With proper care, titanium frames in this category typically last 3-10 years - considerably longer than budget alternatives. These frames are prescription-ready and compatible with single-vision, progressive, and bifocal lenses.

Flexon 610

I think these are discontinued from the manufacturer but needed to get a replacement frame after the previous one was broken by a 9 month old grabbing. Took a little longer than expected due to inventory shortage but arrived in perfect condition.

These were to replace a pair my husband broke from our local eye dr. They were just as expected and came in a timely manor.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are the Flexon 610 eyeglasses prescription-ready?

Yes, the Flexon 610 frames are fully prescription-ready and compatible with single-vision, progressive, and bifocal lenses. The full-rim rectangular design provides good lens support for moderate to higher prescriptions. Your optician can install your prescription lenses directly into these frames.

What is Flexon memory metal and how does it work?

Flexon memory metal is a proprietary titanium-nickel alloy (NiTiNOL) that allows the frames to flex, bend, or twist and then return to their original shape. This technology has been Flexon's signature since 1988 and makes the frames significantly more durable than conventional metal frames, especially if you accidentally sit on them or drop them.

How do I adjust the nose pads on Flexon 610 frames?

The Flexon 610 features adjustable silicone nose pads mounted on small metal arms. You can gently squeeze the pads closer together for a tighter fit or spread them apart for a wider bridge. The pads can also be adjusted up or down to change the frame height on your face. For precise adjustments, visit an optician who can fine-tune the fit to your specific nose bridge and face shape.

What face shapes work best with rectangular Flexon 610 frames?

Rectangular frames like the Flexon 610 work particularly well for round and oval face shapes. The straight lines and angular design provide contrast to softer facial features, adding definition and structure. The frames are available in three lens widths (51mm, 53mm, 55mm) to accommodate different face sizes.

Are titanium frames worth the extra cost compared to stainless steel?

Titanium frames like the Flexon 610 offer several advantages: they're about 40-45% lighter than stainless steel, naturally corrosion-resistant (no discoloration), hypoallergenic, and typically last 3-10 years with proper care. The weight difference is especially noticeable during all-day wear, reducing pressure on the nose bridge and preventing headaches from heavy frames.

What sizes are available for the Flexon 610?

The Flexon 610 is available in three lens widths: 51mm, 53mm, and 55mm. All sizes feature an 18mm bridge width and temple lengths of either 140mm or 145mm depending on the lens size. The frames come in four color options: Steel (035), Gunmetal (033), Coffee (218), and Light Bronze, giving you flexibility to match your style and face size.

Flexon 610 vs. Other 600-Series Models

If you're considering the Flexon 610, you might also be looking at other models in Flexon's 600-series lineup. The Flexon 600, 603, and 607 all share the same $102.15 price point and core memory metal technology, but there are some differences worth noting.

What They Share

All four models use Flexon's proprietary titanium-nickel alloy in the temples and bridge, giving you the same bend-and-return durability. They're all full-rim rectangular designs with adjustable nose pads, making them suitable for round and oval face shapes. Weight and corrosion resistance are comparable across the series.

Key Differences

The main distinctions come down to frame measurements and color availability. The 610 offers four color options (Steel, Gunmetal, Coffee, Light Bronze) and three lens widths (51mm, 53mm, 55mm), giving you more flexibility to match your face size and style preference. The Flexon 600 has the advantage of being available with a magnetic clip-on sunglasses option, which is convenient if you want prescription sunglasses without buying a second pair.

Why Choose the 610?

The Flexon 610 stands out for its broader size and color selection, making it easier to find the exact fit you need. Customer reviews specifically mention the 610 as a frame worth reordering when broken, suggesting strong satisfaction with the design and fit. If you prioritize having multiple size options and a wider color palette, the 610 is the better choice. If you want the clip-on sunglasses feature, consider the 600 instead.
