DESCRIPTION RATINGS & REVIEWS PRESCRIPTION GUIDE

The Coach L156 8168 Sunglasses bring New York sophistication to your everyday wardrobe. These women's rectangle sunglasses feature full-rim acetate frames in two versatile options: classic black with light grey gradient lenses, or rich dark tortoise with warm brown gradient lenses. The 56mm lens width offers medium coverage that flatters oval and round face shapes without overwhelming your features.

What sets the L156 apart is the attention to detail on the temples. The black version showcases a striking mosaic pattern that adds visual interest, while the tortoise option delivers traditional elegance. Both feature the Coach logo subtly placed for brand recognition without being loud. The acetate construction is lightweight at just 22 grams, yet durable enough for daily wear—acetate's flexibility means these frames can be professionally adjusted for a custom fit.

These sunglasses are prescription-ready, accepting single-vision, progressive, and bifocal lenses. The 56-16-135mm measurements (lens-bridge-temple) provide a comfortable fit for most adults, with a 40mm lens height that works well for progressive prescriptions. The gradient lenses offer 100% UVA/UVB protection while allowing more light through the bottom, making them practical for driving and reading your phone outdoors.

Coach has been crafting quality accessories since 1941, starting as a family-run leather workshop in a Manhattan loft. That heritage of American craftsmanship carries through to their eyewear—frames designed to last and stay relevant season after season. The L156 pairs easily with everything from work attire to weekend casual, making it a smart investment for anyone who values versatile, well-made sunglasses that don't require constant replacement.

Class & Quality!

I’ve been wearing coach sunglasses for 15 years now! Over that period of time I’ve collected many styles and designs, not one of which have ever broken or become dated. I feel like they’re all timeless and classy. Unfortunately this pair was a replacement. Sadly I left the originals in a store and they were GONE by the next morning, so someone swiped them out of the dressing room I left them in. Eh, god bless, may they wear them in good health and hopefully they bring that person that happiness they brought me! They were a gift from my hubby, which Coach is his usual go-to when shopping for me. Although he did score me a $1k Versace bag for $300 at sachs, so I went to coach and ordered the matching black and gold double wristlet, chain wallet, and regular wristlet, which I highly recommend. Absolutely perfect and the prices online are unbeatable!

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I get prescription lenses in the Coach L156 8168 sunglasses?

Yes, the Coach L156 8168 is prescription-ready and accepts single-vision, progressive, and bifocal lenses. The 56mm lens width and 40mm lens height provide enough space for most prescriptions, including progressives. You can add prescription lenses during checkout, and our licensed opticians will custom-make them in our US-based lab with your exact specifications.

What face shapes work best with these rectangle sunglasses?

The Coach L156 8168 rectangle shape flatters oval and round face shapes particularly well. The structured rectangular frame adds definition to softer facial features, while the 56mm medium width prevents the frames from looking too large or too small. The full-rim acetate construction and balanced proportions make these versatile enough for most face shapes.

Do these sunglasses provide UV protection?

Yes, the Coach L156 8168 sunglasses include 100% UVA/UVB protection to shield your eyes from harmful rays. The gradient lenses are darker at the top for overhead sun protection and lighter at the bottom, making them practical for activities like driving where you need to see your dashboard clearly.

How do I clean and care for acetate sunglasses?

Always rinse your Coach sunglasses with lukewarm water before wiping to remove abrasive dust. Use a microfiber cloth with mild soap—never paper towels, which can scratch. Avoid acetone, alcohol-based products, and hairspray, which can damage acetate. Store them in the included case and never leave them in a hot car, as heat can warp the frames.

What's included with the Coach L156 8168 sunglasses?

Your sunglasses come with an authentic Coach branded case and cleaning cloth. All frames are 100% authentic with official branding, serial numbers, and manufacturer packaging. At Designer Optics, we source directly from authorized distributors to guarantee authenticity.

How do the measurements 56-16-135 affect the fit?

The measurements mean 56mm lens width, 16mm bridge width, and 135mm temple length. This is considered a medium fit suitable for most adults. The 56mm lens provides good coverage without being oversized, the 16mm bridge fits average nose widths, and the 135mm temples ensure the frames sit comfortably behind your ears without pinching.
