DESCRIPTION RATINGS & REVIEWS PRESCRIPTION GUIDE

The Dragon DR2004 Eyeglasses bring action sports DNA to everyday prescription eyewear. Built for men who want frames that can keep up with an active lifestyle, the DR2004 features a clean rectangle shape in durable metal construction with Dragon's signature design details throughout.

Action Sports Heritage Meets Everyday Wear

What sets the DR2004 apart is the pressed armored venting pattern on the temples—a direct nod to the venting found on Dragon's snow goggles. It's a functional design element that gives these frames a distinct look you won't find on generic rectangle glasses. The tapered temple design adds another layer of Dragon's heritage, creating a frame that feels purpose-built rather than mass-produced.

The full-rim metal frame provides maximum stability and durability. The rectangle shape works well for guys with round or oval faces, helping to balance facial features with clean, horizontal lines. At 54mm lens width, 17mm bridge, and 145mm temples, the DR2004 offers a medium fit that works for most face sizes. The universal bridge design accommodates different nose shapes comfortably.

Prescription-Ready Performance

These frames are fully prescription-ready and compatible with single-vision, progressive, and bifocal lenses. The full-rim construction means the frame can handle stronger prescriptions without compromising the look—the rim conceals lens edges effectively. You can add anti-reflective coating, blue light filtering, or transition lenses to customize them for your needs.

Dragon eyewear is manufactured by Marchon, a name synonymous with quality in the optical industry. Founded in 1993 by Will Howard in Capo Beach, California, Dragon started in a garage and grew into a globally recognized performance eyewear brand. The company's roots in surfing, snowboarding, and motocross still influence every design—these aren't delicate dress frames. They're built to take some wear.

The DR2004 comes in four matte finishes: Matte Black, Matte Grey, Matte Navy, and Matte Olive. The matte coating reduces glare and fingerprints while giving the frames a modern, understated look that pairs well with everything from technical gear to business casual. Each pair includes a Dragon case and cleaning cloth.

processing was terrible

Ordered frames early Thursday morning and paid for next day delivery. Frames were not shipped until the following Wednesday, and I received 1 week after ordering. When I called to check the status, I was told I could cancel the next day shipping and be refunded but then it would be 7-10 business days from order processing before I would receive them. I will never order again

What size are the Dragon DR2004 frames?

The Dragon DR2004 measures 54mm lens width, 17mm bridge width, and 145mm temple length (54-17-145). This is considered a medium fit that works well for most adult male face sizes. The rectangle shape is particularly flattering for round or oval face shapes, as it helps balance facial features with clean horizontal lines.

The Dragon DR2004 features metal frame construction with a full-rim design. The metal provides durability and a lightweight feel for all-day comfort. What is the armored venting pattern on the Dragon DR2004 temples?

The pressed armored venting pattern on the DR2004 temples is a signature Dragon design element inspired by the venting found on their snow goggles. This distinctive detail connects the eyeglasses to Dragon's action sports heritage and gives the frames a unique look. The tapered temple design further emphasizes Dragon's performance-focused aesthetic.

Does the Dragon DR2004 come with a warranty?

The warranty period varies by retailer but generally ranges from one to two years. Each pair includes an authentic Dragon case and premium cleaning cloth to help protect your investment.

Dragon DR2004 vs. Similar Dragon Eyeglasses

If you're considering the Dragon DR2004, you might also be looking at other Dragon rectangle frames in our collection. Here's how the DR2004 stacks up against comparable options.

DR2004 vs. Dragon DR2014

Both the DR2004 and DR2014 are metal rectangle frames built for everyday wear, but the DR2004 distinguishes itself with the pressed armored venting pattern on the temples—a signature detail inspired by Dragon's snow goggles. If you want a frame that clearly signals Dragon's action sports heritage, the DR2004 delivers that visual connection. The DR2014 may offer a cleaner, more understated look if you prefer less branding. Price-wise, they're comparable ($116-$182 for the DR2004 vs. $110-$138 for the DR2014), so your choice comes down to design preference and fit.

DR2004 vs. Dragon DR5008

The DR5008 sits at a slightly higher price point ($130-$137), positioning it as a more premium option in Dragon's eyeglass lineup. While both frames share Dragon's commitment to durable construction, the DR5008 may offer additional design refinements or materials that justify the price increase. The DR2004 represents excellent value if you want authentic Dragon design and quality without stepping up to the premium tier. Consider the DR5008 if you're willing to invest more for potential upgrades in materials or construction details.

DR2004 vs. Dragon DR181 KEVIN

The DR181 KEVIN is one of Dragon's named models, which often carry a distinct design identity within the brand's collection. At $138, it's priced similarly to the DR2004. The key difference is likely in the overall aesthetic—named models like the KEVIN tend to have a more defined personality, while numbered models like the DR2004 offer versatile, everyday wearability. If you want a frame that's unmistakably Dragon but works in any setting, the DR2004 is the safer bet. If you're drawn to a specific design story, explore the KEVIN.

All three alternatives share Dragon's action sports DNA and Marchon manufacturing quality, so you can't go wrong. The DR2004's armored venting detail and four matte color options make it a standout choice for guys who appreciate functional design elements and want frames that reference Dragon's heritage without being overly technical.
