DESCRIPTION RATINGS & REVIEWS PRESCRIPTION GUIDE

The Flexon 651 Eyeglasses combine refined style with the durability of Flexon's signature memory metal technology. Designed for women who need prescription eyewear that keeps up with daily life, these half-rim frames feature an oval shape that flatters a wide range of face shapes, from round to square to heart-shaped.

Built with a lightweight metal construction, the 651 incorporates Flexon's proprietary memory metal in the bridge and temples—a titanium-nickel alloy (NiTiNOL) originally developed for aerospace applications. This material allows the frames to flex, bend, and twist, then return to their original shape without damage. If you've ever sat on your glasses or had them knocked off a table, you'll appreciate frames that bounce back.

The half-rim design keeps weight to a minimum while providing solid lens support along the top. Adjustable silicone nose pads let you fine-tune the fit for all-day comfort, and the clean lines work equally well in professional settings or casual wear. Available in three colors—Blush (a soft rose gold), Coffee (warm brown), and Satin Burgundy (deep wine)—and two lens widths (47mm and 49mm), the Flexon 651 offers options to match your style and fit.

These frames are prescription-ready and compatible with single-vision, progressive, and bifocal lenses. The 18mm bridge and 130mm temples provide a balanced, medium fit. Whether you're working at a screen, reading, or out and about, the Flexon 651 delivers the lightweight resilience that makes Flexon a trusted name in eyewear.

Flexon 651

I love the frames as I've had several pairs over the years and love the prices here. I ordered them not knowing if I'd need them this time and when I didn't and asked to return them the communication wasn't good on that. Then to find out how much would be deducted for the return, I decided to keep them for the future.
So, glasses frames and prices good. Communication not so good along with deductions, not so good.

I really like these frames

This is the second time I have gotten the same pair of frames. They are well made and comfortable, because they’re quite lightweight. I have a small face and have trouble finding frames that fit me correctly. Once I found in a couple years ago, I decided to go ahead and order another pair just to have on hand in case something happens to my current frames.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Flexon memory metal technology?

Flexon frames feature a proprietary titanium-nickel alloy called NiTiNOL in the bridge and temples. This memory metal allows the frames to be flexed, bent, or twisted and return to their original shape, making them significantly more durable than conventional metal frames. The technology was originally developed for NASA applications and provides exceptional resilience for everyday wear.

Are Flexon 651 eyeglasses suitable for prescription lenses?

Yes, the Flexon 651 frames are fully prescription-ready and compatible with single-vision, progressive, and bifocal lenses. The half-rim design provides solid lens support along the top rim, and the frames work well with a wide range of prescription strengths. Simply provide your prescription when ordering.

What face shapes work best with oval eyeglasses?

Oval frames like the Flexon 651 are highly versatile and flattering on most face shapes. They work particularly well for square, rectangular, and heart-shaped faces by softening angular features. The gentle curves also complement round and oval faces, making this one of the most universally flattering frame shapes available.

How do I choose between the 47mm and 49mm size?

The first number (47 or 49) represents the lens width in millimeters. If you have smaller facial features or prefer a more petite frame, choose the 47mm. For average to larger faces or if you prefer more coverage, the 49mm is the better option. Both sizes have the same 18mm bridge width and 130mm temple length.

Are half-rim glasses durable enough for everyday use?

Yes, half-rim glasses are sturdy and well-suited for daily wear, especially when made with Flexon memory metal. The top rim provides solid lens support, and the lightweight construction actually reduces stress on your nose and ears. Flexon frames are known for their strength and durability, with many customers reporting years of reliable use.

What makes Flexon frames lightweight?

Flexon frames use a titanium-based memory metal alloy that is significantly lighter than conventional metal frame materials like stainless steel or monel. The half-rim design of the 651 further reduces weight by eliminating the bottom rim. This combination makes Flexon frames exceptionally comfortable for extended wear without causing pressure points or headaches.

Flexon 651 vs. Similar Models: Which Frame Is Right for You?

The Flexon 651 sits within Flexon's core numbered collection, alongside the 603 and 606 models. All three share the brand's signature memory metal technology, but they're designed for different style preferences and face shapes.

Flexon 651 vs. Flexon 603: Half-Rim Oval vs. Full-Rim Rectangle

The Flexon 603 offers a full-rim rectangular design targeted toward men, while the 651 features a half-rim oval shape designed for women. The 603's full rim provides maximum lens protection and a bolder look, but it's noticeably heavier than the 651's minimalist half-rim construction. If you prefer lightweight comfort and a softer, more versatile shape, the 651 is the better choice. The 603 works well for those who want a more substantial frame presence and don't mind the extra weight. Price-wise, the 603 is slightly less expensive at $102.15 versus the 651's $116.31.

Flexon 651 vs. Flexon 606: Oval vs. Rectangle in Half-Rim

The Flexon 606 is the closest comparison to the 651—both use the same lightweight half-rim construction with memory metal. The deciding factor is shape: the 606's rectangular lenses suit round and oval faces by adding definition, while the 651's oval lenses are more universally flattering across face shapes. The 606 is designed for men and comes in a wider range of sizes (52, 54, and 56mm lens widths), while the 651 offers women's sizing in 47mm and 49mm. If you have a rounder face and prefer sharper lines, consider the 606. For softer features or a more classic look, the 651 is ideal.

Why Choose the Flexon 651?

The Flexon 651 stands out for its combination of lightweight half-rim design, universally flattering oval shape, and refined color options (Blush, Coffee, Satin Burgundy) that lean more sophisticated than the utilitarian tones of the 603 and 606. It's the best choice if you want a frame that's comfortable enough to forget you're wearing it, versatile enough for any setting, and durable enough to handle daily wear without babying.
