DESCRIPTION RATINGS & REVIEWS PRESCRIPTION GUIDE

The Guess 2677 Eyeglasses bring contemporary style to everyday prescription eyewear. This women's square frame pairs a full-rim acetate front with eye-catching metal temple accents and a decorative crystal logo detail at each hinge—a signature Guess touch that adds polish without weight.

The frame is built from cellulose acetate, a plant-based material known for its hypoallergenic properties, smooth finish, and durability. Acetate holds color beautifully, which is why the 2677 is available in eight rich finishes: Shiny Black, Shiny Bordeaux, Coloured Havana, and Violet/Other, each offered in both 50mm and 53mm lens widths. The two-tone construction—acetate front, metal-accented temples—keeps the look refined and versatile enough for work, weekends, or anywhere in between.

Fit & Sizing

The Guess 2677 is available in two sizes: 50-17-135 and 53-17-135. Both share a 17mm bridge and 135mm temples. The 17mm bridge width is slightly generous, which works well for medium to wider nose bridges but may sit lower on narrower faces. If you find the frames slip, adhesive nose pads (widely available) can dial in a secure, comfortable fit. The square lens shape flatters oval and round face shapes by adding structure, while the softly rounded corners keep the look approachable rather than severe.

Prescription-Ready & Versatile

These frames are fully prescription-ready and compatible with single-vision, progressive, and bifocal lenses. The full-rim construction provides excellent lens security and supports a wide range of prescription strengths. The acetate material can be gently adjusted by an optician to fine-tune the fit to your face, and the metal hinges are durable enough for daily wear. Whether you need distance correction, reading lenses, or multifocals, the 2677 delivers a stable, stylish platform for your prescription.

Mostly Great

These look great but slip down due to the wide nose bridge measurement (17). Luckily I found some clear stick-on bridge pads that improved the fit. With that fix, I went ahead and bought them in a second color, since they look so good.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are the Guess 2677 eyeglasses prescription-ready?

Yes, the Guess 2677 frames are fully prescription-ready and compatible with single-vision, progressive, and bifocal lenses. The full-rim acetate construction securely holds lenses and supports a wide range of prescription strengths, making them suitable for distance, reading, or multifocal needs.

What face shapes work best with square eyeglass frames?

Square frames like the Guess 2677 work best for oval and round face shapes, as they add structure and balance. The square shape can also work for heart-shaped faces. For square or angular faces, the softly rounded corners of the 2677 help prevent the frame from looking too boxy.

What sizes does the Guess 2677 come in?

The Guess 2677 is available in two lens widths: 50mm and 53mm. Both sizes feature a 17mm bridge width and 135mm temple length. The 50mm size works well for smaller to medium faces, while the 53mm suits medium to larger faces.

What is acetate and why is it used for eyeglass frames?

Acetate is a plant-based, hypoallergenic material derived from cellulose. It's preferred for eyeglasses because it's more durable than standard plastic, holds rich color depth, has a smooth comfortable finish, and can be adjusted by an optician to customize the fit to your face.

Do the Guess 2677 frames have spring hinges?

The Guess 2677 features standard barrel hinges with decorative metal temple accents and a crystal logo detail at each hinge. While not spring hinges, the acetate material can be professionally adjusted for a customized, comfortable fit that accommodates different head widths.

What colors are available for the Guess 2677?

The Guess 2677 is available in eight color options across two sizes: Shiny Black, Shiny Bordeaux, Coloured Havana, and Violet/Other. Each colorway features a two-tone design with acetate fronts and complementary metal temple accents for a polished, contemporary look.

Guess 2677 vs. Guess 2673: Detailed vs. Minimalist

If you're choosing between the Guess 2677 and the Guess 2673, you're comparing two square acetate frames from the same collection with nearly identical sizing. The 2673 offers a cleaner, more understated look at $94.77, while the 2677 adds decorative metal temple accents and crystal logo details at the hinges for $99.75–$107.08. Both share the same 17mm bridge width and are available in multiple sizes (the 2673 in 51mm and 53mm, the 2677 in 50mm and 53mm).

Choose the 2677 if you appreciate detailed styling and want frames that make a statement with their two-tone acetate-and-metal construction. The decorative hinge embellishments add visual interest without extra weight. Choose the 2673 if you prefer a minimalist aesthetic or want to save a few dollars on a frame that's equally well-made but less ornate. Both are prescription-ready, hypoallergenic, and built to last.

Guess 2677 vs. Guess 2678: Square vs. Cat-Eye

The Guess 2678 offers a semi cat-eye alternative to the 2677's square shape. While the 2677 delivers a structured, versatile square silhouette that works across professional and casual settings, the 2678 brings a more feminine, upswept look that draws attention to the brow line. Both are full-rim acetate frames with the same 17mm bridge width, but the 2678 is available only in a 52mm size with 140mm temples, compared to the 2677's 50mm and 53mm options with 135mm temples.

Choose the 2677 if you want a square frame that flatters oval and round faces, offers more size flexibility, and pairs easily with everything from business attire to weekend wear. The square shape adds structure without being severe, and the decorative temple details keep it from looking plain. Choose the 2678 if you prefer the softening effect of a cat-eye shape, especially if you have a square or angular face that benefits from upward curves. Just note that the single size option means less flexibility for fit customization.
