DESCRIPTION RATINGS & REVIEWS PRESCRIPTION GUIDE

The Jones New York J775 eyeglasses bring a modern take on the cat-eye silhouette to your everyday wardrobe. Designed for women who value professional polish without sacrificing personality, these full-rim acetate frames pair a softly upswept cat-eye shape with slim metal temples for a balanced, contemporary look.

The acetate front is lightweight and flexible—comfortable enough to wear from morning meetings through evening plans. Acetate's plant-based construction makes it more durable than standard plastic, resisting daily wear while maintaining its shape and color over time. The material is also hypoallergenic, so it sits comfortably on sensitive skin without irritation.

Available in three versatile finishes—classic Black, warm Tortoise, and the distinctive Blue Tortoise with its multi-tonal depth—the J775 adapts to your style. The slim metal temples add a refined contrast to the acetate front, curving gently behind the ears for a secure, pressure-free fit. At 54mm lens width and 138mm total frame width, the J775 suits a range of face shapes, with the cat-eye's upswept corners adding subtle lift and definition that flatters round, oval, and heart-shaped faces particularly well.

These frames are prescription-ready and compatible with single-vision, progressive, and bifocal lenses. The cat-eye shape provides ample lens height, making it a practical choice for progressive wearers who need clear zones for distance, intermediate, and near vision. Each pair ships with a protective case and cleaning cloth.

Jones New York eyewear has built its reputation on accessible quality and tailored styling for the modern professional. The J775 continues that tradition—a frame that works as hard as you do, from the office to after-hours, without the premium markup of luxury-tier brands.

Great frames at a great price

Ordered replacement frames for my elderly mother's glasses and they arrived much sooner than projected. The lenses went in easily by following some online guides. I highly recommend as it was a savings of over $150 versus purchasing them locally.

Valiant effort

I love how they look and feel, however, they gave me the wrong size. They gave me just a size too large and they fall off my face. I ordered a [****], and they gave me a [****]. Slightly perturbed, I think these would have been my favorite pair of glasses if they would have fit right.

The Glasses Look Great

I’m happy with my recent purchase. It’s my first online glasses purchase and overall I am satisfied. I do notice that the progressive part of the lenses is a little off compared to my old glasses. Maybe I measured a little incorrect or something but it isn’t too bad. I’m happy with the purchase. I ended up paying much less than I would have paid at the local eye glass places I looked at.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are the Jones New York J775 frames prescription-ready?

Yes, the J775 frames are fully prescription-ready and can accommodate single-vision, progressive, and bifocal lenses. The cat-eye shape provides sufficient lens height for progressive lenses, giving you clear zones for distance, intermediate, and near vision. Most optical labs can fit these frames with your prescription.

What face shapes work best with the J775 cat-eye frames?

Cat-eye frames like the J775 are particularly flattering on round, oval, and heart-shaped faces. The upswept outer corners add definition and draw attention upward, creating a lifted, balanced look. The 54mm lens width and 138mm total frame width suit a range of face sizes, though the style is versatile enough for most face shapes.

What makes acetate frames better than regular plastic?

Acetate frames like the J775 are made from plant-based cellulose, making them more durable, flexible, and lightweight than standard injection-molded plastic. Acetate is hypoallergenic, resists breakage better due to its flexibility, and holds vibrant colors that won't fade over time. The material is also more comfortable for all-day wear.

Are these frames comfortable for all-day wear?

Yes, the J775 frames are designed for all-day comfort. The acetate material is extremely lightweight, reducing pressure on your nose and ears. The slim metal temples curve gently for a secure fit without pinching, and the hypoallergenic acetate won't irritate sensitive skin even during extended wear.

What comes included with the Jones New York J775 eyeglasses?

Each pair of J775 frames comes with a protective case and microfiber cleaning cloth. The frames are authentic Jones New York eyewear manufactured by De Rigo Rem and include a one-year manufacturer's warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship.

Can I wear these frames in a professional office setting?

Absolutely. The J775 features a soft, modern cat-eye shape that's polished and professional rather than overly dramatic. The design is specifically created for working women, offering a sophisticated look that transitions easily from desk to dinner. The neutral color options—Black, Tortoise, and Blue Tortoise—pair well with business attire.

Jones New York J775 vs. Similar Cat-Eye Frames

If you're considering the J775, you may also want to compare it to other Jones New York cat-eye frames in our collection. Here's how the J775 stacks up against its closest alternatives.

J775 vs. J776: Size Matters

The Jones New York J776 is the J775's smaller sibling, featuring a 51mm lens width compared to the J775's 54mm. If you have a petite face or prefer a more compact frame, the J776 might be your better fit. However, the J775's larger lens size makes it more versatile for progressive lenses, providing better vertical height for the reading and intermediate zones. The J775 also tends to feel more balanced on medium to larger faces, while the J776 can look undersized. Both share the same acetate-and-metal construction and professional aesthetic.

J775 vs. J777: The Middle Ground

The Jones New York J777 sits right between the J775 and J776 with its 53mm lens width—just 1mm smaller than the J775. For most wearers, this difference is barely noticeable, so your choice may come down to color availability and current pricing. Both frames offer the same cat-eye styling, acetate durability, and prescription compatibility. If the J775 is out of stock in your preferred color, the J777 is an excellent backup option.

J775 vs. J243: Petite Alternative

For those who love the Jones New York aesthetic but need a truly petite frame, the Jones New York J243 offers a 49mm lens width—5mm smaller than the J775. This makes the J243 ideal for smaller faces, but it's a trade-off: the reduced lens height may limit your progressive lens options, and the frame can feel cramped on medium or larger faces. The J775 is the better all-around choice for most wearers, offering more versatility in prescription options and a more universally flattering fit.

Our recommendation: The J775 hits the sweet spot for size, progressive lens compatibility, and versatility. Choose the J776 only if you have a petite face, the J777 if your preferred J775 color is unavailable, and the J243 if you specifically need a smaller frame.
