Difficult to find the exact model

I have a pair and wanted to give my wife the same model for her birthday. It looked like it found it but actually it was just similar but did not fit as well. I needed the 3548-N model at 48 mm. Yes the details matter! Had to sadly send this one back.

Perfect Fit

The 48 size are the perfect fit for my smaller face. Edgy twist on a classic frame, fast shipping, and great customer service. I appreciated the email updates I received along the way. Would 100% order from DesignerOptics again.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are Ray-Ban Hexagonal 3548 sunglasses available with prescription lenses?

Yes, the Ray-Ban Hexagonal 3548 sunglasses are fully prescription-ready. You can add custom prescription lenses including single vision, progressive, polarized, and photochromic options. The metal frame construction allows for easy lens customization while maintaining the iconic hexagonal shape and optical clarity Ray-Ban is known for.

What size Ray-Ban Hexagonal 3548 should I choose - 48mm, 51mm, or 54mm?

The Ray-Ban Hexagonal 3548 comes in three lens widths: 48mm (small, ideal for petite or narrow faces), 51mm (medium, the most popular universal fit), and 54mm (large, best for wider faces). Customer reviews note the 48mm works perfectly for smaller faces, while the 51mm and 54mm provide comfortable coverage for average to larger face sizes.

What face shapes look best with Ray-Ban Hexagonal 3548 sunglasses?

The hexagonal shape is designed to flatter oval, square, and heart-shaped faces. The soft angles of the hexagonal frame bring harmony to square faces, while the geometric structure adds definition to rounder or oval features. The balanced blend of round and angular elements makes these sunglasses universally flattering across different face shapes.

What's the difference between Ray-Ban Hexagonal 3548 and Round Metal 3447?

The Hexagonal 3548 is described as 'the evolution of round'—it takes the classic Round Metal 3447 silhouette and transforms it into a hexagonal shape with flat crystal lenses. Both feature thin metal construction and adjustable nose pads, but the Hexagonal offers a more contemporary, geometric aesthetic while the Round Metal maintains a traditional circular vintage look.

Do Ray-Ban Hexagonal 3548 sunglasses have UV protection?

Yes, all Ray-Ban Hexagonal 3548 sunglasses provide 100% UVA and UVB protection. The flat crystal lenses block harmful ultraviolet rays while delivering exceptional optical clarity and visual comfort. Many variants also offer polarized lenses that eliminate glare and enhance contrast for superior eye protection.

Are Ray-Ban Hexagonal 3548 sunglasses comfortable for all-day wear?

Yes, customers consistently praise the lightweight metal construction and comfortable fit. The adjustable nose pads allow for personalized positioning, while the thin temples and balanced weight distribution prevent pressure points. Reviews highlight that the 3548 is ideal for extended wear without causing headaches or discomfort, making them perfect for daily use.

Ray-Ban Hexagonal 3548 vs Round Metal 3447 vs Square 1971: Which Geometric Frame Is Right for You?

The Ray-Ban Hexagonal 3548 sits at the intersection of classic and contemporary—literally described as 'the evolution of round.' If you're deciding between Ray-Ban's iconic geometric metal frames, here's what sets each apart.

Hexagonal 3548: The Modern Classic

The Hexagonal 3548 takes the beloved Round Metal silhouette and transforms it into a distinctive six-sided shape with thin coined profiles and etched detailing. This unique geometry flatters oval, square, and heart-shaped faces by balancing round and angular elements. At $163-$207, it offers a contemporary edge while maintaining timeless versatility. Choose the Hexagonal if you want a frame that stands out without being overly trendy—it's recognizably Ray-Ban but distinctly modern.

Round Metal 3447: The Vintage Icon

The Ray-Ban Round Metal 3447 ($123.26-$281) is the original 1960s counterculture classic. With its perfectly circular lenses and curved brow bar, it delivers pure vintage authenticity. The Round Metal works beautifully on oval and heart-shaped faces but may emphasize roundness on fuller face shapes. If you're after John Lennon-style retro cool and prefer a lower entry price, the 3447 is your frame.

Square 1971: The Bold Geometric

The Ray-Ban Square 1971 ($117.94-$207) takes geometry even further with pronounced square angles. It's ideal for round or oval faces that benefit from angular structure. While the Square 1971 makes a bolder statement, it's less universally flattering than the Hexagonal's balanced proportions.

Our Recommendation

Choose the Hexagonal 3548 if you want the best of both worlds: a frame that honors Ray-Ban's heritage while offering a fresh, geometric twist. Its versatile shape works across more face types than the Round Metal, and it feels more timeless than the trendier Square 1971. Plus, it's prescription-ready and available in three sizes for the perfect fit.
