DESCRIPTION RATINGS & REVIEWS PRESCRIPTION GUIDE

The Ray-Ban Emy RB3741 sunglasses bring early 2000s edge into the present with a slim rectangular metal frame and bold pastel lens tints. Part of Ray-Ban's Bio-Based collection, these unisex sunglasses feature frames made with 40% bio-based carbon content from renewable sources like castor oil. Lenses are standard CR-39 or polycarbonate with 100% UV protection.

Y2K Style Meets Modern Materials

The Emy's sleek rectangular shape captures the spirit of the early 2000s with a geometric, minimalist silhouette that's making a major comeback. Available in colors from pink and violet to blue and dark green, the pastel-tinted lenses create a striking contrast against the gunmetal, silver, and gold metal frames. This is statement eyewear designed for those who want to stand out.

The full-rim metal construction is lightweight and durable, built on a stainless steel frame that won't weigh you down during all-day wear. Adjustable nose pads let you dial in a custom fit that stays put without slipping or pinching—especially useful if you have a low nose bridge or need extra stability during active wear. The single bridge design keeps the look clean and modern.

Prescription-Ready & Versatile

These sunglasses are prescription-ready, so you can add your Rx lenses and enjoy both sun protection and clear vision. Available in two lens widths to fit a range of face shapes, with the narrow-to-average fit working well for smaller or medium builds.

Select variants include polarized lenses that virtually eliminate glare for superior visual clarity, making them a smart choice for driving, water activities, or bright outdoor conditions. All lenses deliver 100% UVA and UVB protection to shield your eyes from harmful rays.

The Ray-Ban Emy RB3741 combines bold geometric design with bio-based frame materials—a step toward sustainability without sacrificing Ray-Ban's signature quality.

Wrong lens, wrong frames, no Ray-Ban logo on lens

Bought a pair in BLUE, expecting the blue shown on the site to be the blue I received, but it was MUCH darker, and the frames themselves are CLEARLY smaller than my EMY frames that I bought from Ray-Ban direct. Then they tried to say I bought a different size, which I disproved with photos, and now they're fighting me with my refund request. I have reported this to the California State Attorney General, this kind of fraud needs to be reported so they don't keep pulling deceptive baloney.

Never again

Wrong tint to lenses, was told it was my fault for not specifying to use exact same color as shown on site. Disputing with VISA.

Disgusted

I called customer service the morning after ordering the 56' lens saying I was unsure if they would fit they said they could not change the order to 59 so I ordered the 59 also that same morning this time with premium shipping. My 59' lens glasses have still not arrived after being missent to the wrong post office 8 days ago despite my constant efforts to get this issue resolved with phone call after phone call to USPS offices. And now I receive a notification from you all telling me my return window of 14 days is closed when I have not even received the other item yet I am disgusted. I could have saved myself $40 on each pair by going to Walmart but I wanted to support an actual retailer like designer optics. I am hoping this issue will be resolved.

Are Ray-Ban Emy RB3741 sunglasses prescription-ready?

Yes, the Ray-Ban Emy RB3741 is fully prescription-ready. You can have custom prescription lenses fitted to these frames, including single-vision, progressive, or blue-light blocking options. The metal full-rim construction and adjustable nose pads make them well-suited for prescription lens installation.

What are bio-nylon lenses and why are they sustainable?

The bio-nylon lenses in the Ray-Ban Emy RB3741 are made with 40% bio-based carbon content derived from renewable plant sources like castor oil, replacing traditional fossil-based materials. This makes them a more environmentally responsible choice while still delivering the same UV protection and optical clarity you expect from Ray-Ban.

What size should I choose: 56mm or 59mm?

The Ray-Ban Emy RB3741 comes in two lens widths: 56mm (narrow fit) and 59mm (average fit). The 56mm works best for smaller or narrower faces, while the 59mm suits medium to slightly wider face shapes. Both share the same 17mm bridge width and 145mm temple length, with adjustable nose pads to fine-tune the fit.

Do these sunglasses have UV protection?

Yes, all Ray-Ban Emy RB3741 sunglasses include lenses with 100% UVA and UVB protection to shield your eyes from harmful ultraviolet rays. Select color variants also feature polarized lenses that reduce glare for enhanced visual clarity and comfort in bright conditions.

Are the nose pads adjustable on the Emy RB3741?

Yes, the Ray-Ban Emy RB3741 features adjustable nose pads that can be customized to fit your unique nose shape and bridge height. This allows you to prevent slipping, reduce pressure points, and achieve a secure, comfortable fit—especially beneficial for those with low nose bridges or asymmetric facial features.

What face shapes work best with rectangular sunglasses like the Emy?

Rectangular sunglasses like the Ray-Ban Emy RB3741 are particularly flattering on round or oval face shapes, as the geometric lines add balance and structure. They can also work well on heart-shaped faces. The slim, elongated rectangular design is a versatile Y2K-inspired shape that complements many face types when properly sized.

Ray-Ban Emy RB3741 vs Rectangle 1969 vs RB3527

If you're drawn to Ray-Ban's rectangular metal sunglasses, you have several strong options. The Emy RB3741 stands out for its Y2K-inspired aesthetic and sustainable bio-nylon lenses, while the Rectangle 1969 offers classic vintage appeal and the RB3527 provides a more understated modern alternative.

Choose the Emy RB3741 if: You want to tap into the early 2000s trend with bold pastel lens tints and appreciate eco-conscious materials. The bio-nylon lenses with 40% bio-based content make this the most sustainable choice, and the slim geometric shape perfectly captures the Y2K aesthetic that's resonating with Gen Z and millennials. The adjustable nose pads and lightweight metal construction deliver all-day comfort.

Choose the Rectangle 1969 if: You prefer a more timeless vintage look rooted in 1960s design heritage. This model typically offers traditional glass lens options for those who prioritize optical clarity above all else, though it will be heavier. It's the choice for purists who want established Ray-Ban iconography over trend-driven styling.

Choose the RB3527 if: You want a rectangular metal frame without the bold Y2K styling or vintage references. This is the most neutral option, ideal if you're looking for something that won't date as quickly or if you prefer subtler lens tints. It sits in a similar price range but lacks the sustainability story of the Emy.

All three are prescription-ready and feature Ray-Ban's quality construction and UV protection. The Emy RB3741 offers the best combination of contemporary trend appeal, sustainable materials, and versatile sizing with both 56mm and 59mm options.
