DESCRIPTION RATINGS & REVIEWS PRESCRIPTION GUIDE

The Champion CU6016 sunglasses deliver the coverage and comfort active lifestyles demand. Built with a wrap-around design, these full-rim frames curve naturally around your face to block glare and UV rays from every angle—not just straight ahead. The 59mm lenses and 14mm bridge create a secure, stable fit that stays put whether you're driving into low sun, running errands, or spending the day outdoors.

The polarized lenses cut reflected glare from water, pavement, and windshields, sharpening your view and reducing eye strain. The curved shape blocks side light that flat frames miss, giving you clearer vision and better protection in bright conditions. The full-rim plastic frame is lightweight but durable, with thick, comfortable temples that distribute pressure evenly. Rubberized temple inserts help the frames grip without slipping during movement.

Champion has designed eyewear since 1919, and the CU6016 reflects that focus on function. The frames are prescription-ready, so you can add single-vision or progressive lenses if needed. Available in matte navy, shiny graphite, and matte black, each color features the Champion logo at the temple. The rectangular lens shape suits most face shapes, and the 130mm temples provide coverage without feeling oversized.

These sunglasses work well for driving, fishing, cycling, or any activity where glare and peripheral light are issues. The wrap design also shields your eyes from wind and debris—a practical advantage if you spend time near water or on the road. At this price point, the CU6016 offers solid build quality and real polarized protection without the premium you'd pay for specialty sport brands.

My favorite

I have worn tins model of sunglasses for numerous years and have enjoyed them because they fit so well and are comfortable. My original pair got lnocked onto the ground and stepped on , breaking them. Not wanting to buy a different model, I looked and found another pair that would be a direct replacement. I am now happy.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are the Champion CU6016 sunglasses prescription-ready?

Yes, the Champion CU6016 frames are compatible with prescription lenses. You can order them with single-vision, progressive, or polarized prescription lenses through our lab. The full-rim plastic construction and 59mm lens size provide enough depth for most prescriptions.

What are the measurements of the Champion CU6016?

The Champion CU6016 measures 59mm lens width, 14mm bridge width, and 130mm temple length. This is a standard to slightly larger fit that works well for medium to large face sizes. The wrap-around design provides extended coverage compared to flat frames.

Do these sunglasses have polarized lenses?

Yes, the Champion CU6016 comes with polarized lenses that reduce glare from reflective surfaces like water, roads, and car hoods. Polarization filters horizontal light waves, improving visual clarity and reducing eye strain during driving, fishing, and other outdoor activities.

What is the benefit of wrap-around sunglasses?

Wrap-around sunglasses like the Champion CU6016 curve around your face to block light, wind, and debris from the sides—coverage that flat frames can't provide. This design reduces peripheral glare, offers better UV protection from all angles, and keeps the frames secure during movement, making them ideal for sports and driving.

Are Champion CU6016 sunglasses good for driving?

Yes, these sunglasses are well-suited for driving. The polarized lenses cut glare from windshields and wet roads, while the wrap-around design blocks side light that sneaks past traditional frames during sunrise or sunset driving. The secure fit means they won't slip when you move your head.

What colors are available for the Champion CU6016?

The Champion CU6016 is available in three color options: matte black (C01), matte navy (C04), and shiny graphite (C05). Each features polarized lenses—grey lenses for the black and navy frames, and brown lenses for the graphite version.

Champion CU6016 vs. Nike PREMIER vs. Nike ADRENALINE vs. Suncloud Zephyr

If you're shopping for sport sunglasses under $100, the Champion CU6016 competes directly with Nike's PREMIER EV1071 and ADRENALINE EV1112, plus the Suncloud Zephyr from Smith Optics. All four offer polarized lenses and sport-focused designs, but they differ in coverage, fit, and price.

The Champion CU6016 ($91) delivers the most comprehensive wrap-around coverage of the group. Its curved design blocks side glare and peripheral light better than flatter sport frames, making it the strongest choice for driving and activities where glare comes from multiple angles. The 59mm lens and full-rim construction provide a secure, stable fit for medium to large faces. Champion's century-old athletic heritage shows in the durable plastic frame and comfortable temple design.

The Nike PREMIER EV1071 ($86-92) sits in the same price range but offers Nike's advanced lens coatings and a more performance-oriented aesthetic. If you prioritize brand recognition in athletic eyewear and want cutting-edge lens technology, the Nike PREMIER is worth considering. However, it may have less peripheral coverage than the Champion's wrap design, and the aggressive sport styling doesn't transition as well to casual wear.

The Nike ADRENALINE EV1112 ($50-67) is the budget option, appealing to shoppers who want Nike branding without the premium price. It's lighter and more affordable, but you sacrifice some coverage and lens size. The ADRENALINE works well for running or gym use, but for driving or water sports where glare control matters, the Champion's polarization and wrap coverage deliver better performance.

The Suncloud Zephyr ($55-84) brings Smith Optics' polarized lens expertise to a value-friendly price. Suncloud is known for excellent optics, especially for fishing and water sports. If lens clarity is your top priority and you're comfortable with a lesser-known brand, the Zephyr is a solid pick. The Champion offers more brand recognition and potentially better fit for larger faces.

Our recommendation: Choose the Champion CU6016 if you need maximum coverage, secure fit, and polarized protection for driving, fishing, or all-day outdoor wear. Its wrap-around design blocks glare from more angles than the Nike options, and the $91 price point includes quality polarized lenses and durable construction. The Champion also transitions better from active use to casual wear thanks to its less aggressive styling. If you're loyal to Nike or want the absolute lowest price, the ADRENALINE is a decent alternative—but for comprehensive eye protection and comfort, the Champion CU6016 delivers better value.
