DESCRIPTION RATINGS & REVIEWS PRESCRIPTION GUIDE

The Kate Spade Johanna Sunglasses feature a rounded pillow shape that softens angular features while maintaining a polished look. These women's sunglasses are built with full-rim acetate construction, sized at 53-17-135mm for a comfortable, versatile fit. Available in four distinctive color combinations—from classic tortoise to soft translucent pink temples—each pair includes solid tinted lenses with 100% UV protection.

Prescription-Ready Frames Built to Last

The Johanna is prescription-ready, accepting single-vision, progressive, and bifocal lenses. The acetate frame material allows for easy adjustments to achieve a custom fit, and the smooth surfaces and balanced weight make these sunglasses comfortable for all-day wear. Kate Spade eyewear is manufactured by Safilo, known for quality construction and durability. The signature spade logo on the temple adds a subtle brand detail.

UV Protection & Real-World Fit

The tinted lenses provide 100% UV protection against harmful UVA and UVB rays. The 53mm lens width suits smaller to medium faces well, offering good coverage while maintaining proportion without overwhelming facial features. The 17mm bridge provides comfortable nose placement for extended wear. Each pair ships with a protective case and cleaning cloth.

Defective Sunglasses

I ordered a pair of sunglasses which are defective. They sit crooked on the face. I also was able to find the problem with the temple. I communicated the information to customer service but have had a difficult time getting answers to my very specific questions concerning an exchange. In all honesty I wouldn’t do this again. I would prefer to pay more to a local eyewear store and get the customer service you need. These are not even prescription sunglasses and I can only imagine how difficult a prescription glasses problem must be to resolve.

Nice sunglasses

These sunglasses are a good fit for my smaller face, not too big and will work well on multiple face shapes. They are also great quality and came with a solid case in a reasonable amount of time.

I ordered these sunglasses because I had them already ! Purchase years ago from my eye doctors office. They had been tightened, repaired, updated lenses and even a new case when the old one broke. I have loved them forever ! Now I have new ones with updated prescription. I'm happy happy happy. I wear them all year round, very sensitive to light even on overcast days. Soooo happy I found them with your company.

Kate Spade Johanna vs. Similar Models

If you're considering the Kate Spade Johanna sunglasses, you might also be weighing a few similar options in the Kate Spade collection. Here's how the Johanna compares to other popular models.

Johanna vs. Johanna2

The Kate Spade Johanna2 is the updated version of the original Johanna. While both share similar sizing (53mm lens width) and prescription-ready acetate construction, the Johanna2 comes at a higher price point ($97-$102 compared to $60-$92 for the original). If you're looking for the best value and don't need the latest iteration, the original Johanna offers the same comfortable fit and quality construction at a more accessible price. However, if you prefer the newest design refinements, the Johanna2 might be worth the investment.

Johanna vs. Annika

The Kate Spade Annika sunglasses sit in a similar price range ($59.50-$110) and share the same prescription-ready acetate construction. The main difference lies in the frame shape and styling. While the Johanna features a pillow shape that works particularly well for smaller faces, the Annika offers a different silhouette that may appeal to those seeking variety. Both provide excellent quality and Kate Spade's signature playful sophistication, so your choice comes down to which shape better complements your face and personal style.

Johanna vs. Daesha

For those considering a step up, the Kate Spade Daesha sunglasses ($83-$150) represent a premium option in the Kate Spade collection. The Daesha typically features a larger 54mm lens width, making it better suited for medium to larger faces, whereas the Johanna's 53mm width is ideal for small to medium faces. If you have a smaller face or prefer a more budget-friendly option without sacrificing quality, the Johanna is the smarter choice. The Daesha is worth considering if you need a larger fit and want premium features.

Our recommendation: The Kate Spade Johanna sunglasses offer exceptional value for anyone seeking quality designer eyewear with prescription capability. The comfortable fit for smaller faces, versatile pillow shape, and accessible price point make it an excellent choice for everyday wear. Customer reviews consistently praise the Johanna's durability and flattering proportions, making it a reliable option that won't disappoint.
